Kicking off the first of the series is my first post about Sunday training!
I’m hoping to be able to post a Sunday training run photo most weeks but it will largely depend on where I am and what the weather is like.
The ultimate goal is to be able to run a sub 3 hour 30 minute marathon time, the first target is a little less ambitious – sub 2 hour half marathon.
With that in mind, as part of the 9+1 in 2017, my first event will be NYRR Joe Kleinerman 10K on Saturday January 7th with a goal to finish in sub 50 minutes (hopefully by then it won’t be too hard!)
As you can see from the course map and if you have ever ran central park the starting point is towards the north and running clockwise which just so happens to leave the absolutely most punishing part to the very end.
Weather wise it was a beautiful day and likely one of the last weekends that will be that way, sunny and fairly warm.
Next Sunday I may run this course to see what it will be like, but my guess will be the last 1 mile will be punishing.
